Gumasa Beach in Sarangani Province. Dubbed as the “Boracay of the South,” Gumasa Beach offers the same beautiful shoreline, fine white powdery sands, and pristine turquoise waters, complete with a picturesque backdrop. Its long crescent beach stretches six kilometers on Sarangani’s eastern shore.
The beach has all the things has to offer minus the completely commercialized stations and wild night parties of Boracay. While fun is Boracay’s selling point aside from its beautiful beach, the feeling of exclusivity, privacy, and serenity is what makes Gumasa Beach appealing to a lot of people. Who wouldn’t dream a life If you’re looking for something quieter, and less crowded, you should check out this beach down south. Gumasa beach is dubbed as “The Small Boracay of Mindanao.” Located in Glan, Saranggani Province, it can be reached in just about an hour from Gen San. We rented one of the open cottages since we planned to stay in the morning only and would leave for Davao just after lunch. The beach was lovely. Despite the presence of a few resorts within the area, the beach still looked pristine, and its atmosphere was simply peaceful and refreshing. Sarangani’s appetizing sizzler begins with its array of white sand shores topbilled by Gumasa Beach tucked in Glan town. Dubbed as “Boracay of Mindanao”, this long stretch of fine sand is simply blissful minus the madding crowd and unbridled commercialism of its more popular counterparts.
On May, this Gumasa hosts one of the country’s biggest beach party in the now-popular Sarangani Bay Festival.
In addition to its mesmerizing sleepy shores, Glan’s centenarian heritage village takes you to a throwback experience with its ancestral homes, the most notable of which is Ruiz house is the de facto museum which give you a glimpse of town’s checkered past.
