TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN MANILA

There are many tourist spots in Manila that attract visitors from all over the world because of their beauty and historical significance.

Fort Santiago

This is one of the oldest buildings in the Philippines. It imprisoned many famous Filipinos freedom fighters like Jose Rizal. Fort Santiago is now a park with a theater company and a museum. There is a charge for admission.

Malacanang Palace

Malacanang Palace is the seat of the government and the official home of the Philippine president. Originally the summer house of the Spanish governor general, the Malacañang (Spanish for “there’s a nobleman”) is a 150-year-old, 18th century complex built in neocolonial style, resembling the White House of America. If you want to trace the history of the leadership that shaped the Filipinos, this place could be a good start.

Manila Baywalk

2 kilometer long strip next to Manila Bay. It stretches along Roxas Boulevard between the US Embassy and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, just past the Manila Yacht Club. It has long been known for being a good place to watch the famed Manila Bay sunset.

National Library of the Philippines

The National Library of the Philippines is the Philippines’ premier public library, the keeper of the nation’s soul and heritage. The National Library has a history of its own and its rich Filipiniana collections are reminders of our librarians’ endeavors to preserve this institution as the nation’s fountain of knowledge and source of information for the thousands of students and researchers who daily use the library’s collections for their research and studies.
