TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN MANILA

There are many tourist spots in Manila that attract visitors from all over the world because of their beauty and historical significance.

Intramuros

This city was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century. Much of the wall and gates around the city still remain and have been restored for visitors to come and see. Important buildings from the past still exist, making Intramuros a historical site hard to match in other Asian locales. Admission into Intramuros is free.

National Museum of the Philippines

This museum was originally designed to hold much wealth regarding the environment and history of the Philippines. It now is divided into two different areas, the National Museum and the Museum of the Filipino People. It holds many archaeological and historical wonders from the country’s history. Entrance to the National Museum is free; the Museum of the Filipino People requires an admission fee.

The Supreme Court of the Philippines

The Supreme Court complex, which as formerly the campus of the University of the Philippines, occupies the corner of Padre Faura Street and Taft Avenue in Manila, with the main building directly fronting the Philippine General Hospital. Until 1945, the Court held office within Intramuros.

Manila Zoo and Botanical Garden

The Manila Zoo is not particularly big, which is probably a good thing considering how hot it can get in Manila. It has the usual offerings you would expect in a zoo. Lots of bird life, parrots, eagles, doves and pigeons and the mandatory peacock flashing their brilliantly spectacular tail feathers for all to see.
