CAPE BOLINAO LIGHTHOUSE

The Cape Bolinao Lighthouse at Patar rises majestically 351 feet above sea level atop Punta Piedra Point, a towering hill of solid rock which is the sharp point of Cape Bolinao itself.It was built by the Americans in 1903 on a 351 feet (107 m) high promontory at the western part of Cape Bolinao, the lighthouse still sends signals to vessels passing by the area. Cape Bolinao Lighthouse at Punta Piedra Point in Barangay Patar in Bolinao, Pangasinan    stands proud for over 100 years now, guiding ships and vessels cruising the international passage along the South China Sea.  It provides a panoramic view of a portion of the 1,269 hectare Cape Bolinao Dendro Thermal Ipil-Ipil Plantation.  It was built by the Americans in 1903 to send signals to vessels passing by the area.  The winding stairway has an over-all total of 134 steps.   Read More:  http://travelsofjoyfulmom.blogspot.com/2013/06/cape-bolinao-lighthouse.html

This lighthouse was built by the Americans in 1903 and is the second tallest in the country. Climbing atop it, one gets a spectacular 360 degree view of the South China Sea.
