I’m talking about Tagum in Davao del Norte, in which lies Banana Beach in Hijo Estate Resorts—a 760-hectare expanse of leisure space, rivers, forests, and plantations. Imagine everything you could possibly want in a getaway all together in one place: beach, sea, river, forest, comfortable lodging, activities, food, and many more! It’s a dream come true for any traveler seeking the perfect hideaway.
Just an hour and a half drive from Davao City, Banana Beach is situated at the heart of Davao gulf in Madaum, Tagum City, a little—no, enormous—piece of paradise that instantly throws away all the stresses related to city living, a respite from all things toxic. The resort caters to both peace lovers and adventure seekers—how they have managed to combine two opposing worlds, I have no idea. All I know is that I am a bit of both, and I had an amazing time at Banana Beach. Read More: http://www.pepesamson.com/2015/08/banana-beach-davao-things-to-do.html
Whenever we’re at the beach or out on the open ocean, I have a habit of picking up any refuse I can find – plastic bags, bottles, cigarette butts, empty bags of chips. I don’t do it often nor do I make it my personal mission. I just do it given the opportunity because I find trash floating in an otherwise perfect ocean unsightly.
Little did I know that I may have been inadvertently saving a few animals in the process. Thanks to the D’ Bone Collector Museum in Davao City, I now understand that picking up trash on the beach isn’t just about prettying your environment. It’s about preserving it too.
The museum is a 3-story building fronting Nograles Park. On the second floor are the bones of terrestrial animals. All skeletons at the museum are from animals that died of natural causes. Bulca Chong is one of Davaoeños favorite dining place after a late night out. It offers sumptuous soup called bulca chong – a beef stew. They are located at General Luna St., Davao City. Their location is a walking distance from Gaisano South Mall and Davao Doctors Hospital. Read More: http://www.escapemanila.com/2014/01/where-to-eat-in-davao.html
