Tarsier Sanctuary

We chose Tarsier Sanctuary, located in a forrest between Corella and Sikatuna cities, because it’s a place where tarsiers live in the wild. They are free to do whatever they want, even to leave the territory of the sanctuary. Staff in the center only controls population, treats and feeds, and makes bypassing find tarsiers current location every morning. Tarsiers are nocturnal animals and they are practically inactive during daytime. Usually they sit at the same place the whole day. Those who were found this morning are shown to tourists this day.
Visitors are allotted only one hectare of the total area of 10 hectares. So every time you hope that this day there are more tarsiers, and they are close. But nobody can guarantee it. We’ve seen only three tarsiers. One of them was close enough, so we could look at it very carefully and make pictures. It was enough to assume that we did not come in vain. Incredibly huge eyes and facial expressions muzzles can not leave anyone indifferent! Taking to hands, stroking and scaring of tarsiers are strictly prohibited. Their comfort is carefully guarded. Hop in to the floating restaurant at Loboc, just about 23 kilometers away from the city of Tagbilaran. With a minimum budget of 400 pesos for a buffet, you can get the best foods in town while you are listening the angelic voice of The Loboc Children’s Choir that won awards in the International Folk Song Festival held in Barcelona Spain. Bilar Man-made Forest

It was as though the surrounding landscape morphed from farmlands to forests in an instant, as though our vehicle drove through a portal into a parallel universe. We pulled over and our driver-cum-tour guide dragged us back to reality. “This is the manmade forest,” he announced.
The manmade forest is a 2-kilometer stretch of mahogany trees that carpet the sloping ground where the municipality of Loboc meets Bilar. Travelers going to the Chocolate Hills from Loboc will not miss this.
We traipsed along the road under the canopy of a lush mahogany forest whose branches curved overhead. I could not help but look up; their leaves have blocked out the sun completely. Uniform and imposing, their thin trunks stand so close to each other like a platoon of giant soldiers. At the time, no wind was there to tousle their verdant tops yet they appeared to be moving, stepping back, giving way to visitors passing by.
