The months of November until March provide Ideal wind conditions for surfing and kite boarding, which range from 15 to 30 knots. If wind speed is insufficient, other water activities such as kayaking, jet skiing, snorkeling and skim boarding may be done. The stretch of Bagasbas beach in Daet, Camarines Norte offers the gnarly waves that surfers dream of. For pro surfers and beginners, Bagasbas is an ideal spot for its consistent waves the whole year round.
Some of the locals who became experts on riding the waves gives lessons for beginners for 400php ($9) each. This includes beginner tutorial, assistance and surf board rent. Surf board rental is only 200php ($5) per hour.
There are a number of inns and hotels near the beach for accommodation fit for a backpacker’s budget to a bakasyonistas.
