I couldn’t help myself compare the sand and the waters with other popular beach destinations in the country, as my restless feet touched the shores. Indeed, the sand was so fine and powdery white and can even compete with the sands of the Boracay Island.

As for the waters, it was shallow, refreshing, and clear and on some portions reveal the rich marine life underneath.  The sea urchins, starfish, stingless jellyfish and other fishes were a mainstay in the island.

We boarded a fishing boat at the town’s pier and went straight to the islands, mostly uninhabited. Such beauty. After about 30 minutes of oooohs and ahhhhs, we were brought to Portavega, a very relaxing resort on a cove.

Within Portavega is a very unique, dome-shaped church with Latin words around the dome. Because of its shape, no microphones are necessary during mass. A place to enjoy nature plus adventure. From the port of Dimasalang, one has to ride a motorboat to travel to barangay Cadulan, the island where Porta Vega Beach Resort is located.

One will really enjoy the view of   nature because aside from the cool water and rock formations, they will also find different plants and trees that surrounds the island.
