Rodeo Festival is an annual event which takes place in Masbate City which showcases skills in livestock handling, such as lassoing, wrestling, and riding cattle. Also included in the event are a fair and exhibitions and trade of cattle and horses. The City of Masbate will again play host to the annual Rodeo Festival with events happening from April 5-19, 2015. Participants from different regions of the country will compete in various school- and professional-level competitions taking place at the Masbate Grand Rodeo Arena.

Highlights of the festival are the Grand Rodeo Festival Parade and Opening Program, the Rodeo National Finals, the Cattle Drive, and the Street Barn Dance. In the evening, head to the Rodeo Saloon and Beer Plaza and cool down with your favorite local beer and feast on Masbateno delicacies as live bands and concerts keep you entertained. The Provincial Government of Masbate launched the first Rodeo Masbateño in 1993. Its objective was to increase revenues, promote tourism and gain international recognition for the province. On September 2, 2002, Executive Order No. 120 was signed, declaring the province of Masbate as the Rodeo Capital of the Philippines and effectively granting the province the exclusive rights to hold the National Rodeo Final Competitions and the supervision over local rodeo competitions in other provinces.
