Celebrating Good Friday Taking the 3,003 Steps to Linabo Peak

There are 3,003 concrete steps that lead to a panoramic view of the sky, sea, plains and the twin cities of Dipolog and Dapitan. Situated at 486 meters above sea level, it is considered the highest peak in the city. Here, you will also find the 14 Stations of the Cross as well as a community chapel. Done every Good Friday is the trekking activity locally named as Katkat Sakripisyo sa 3003 Steps. It is for commemorating the passion of Christ by religious re-enactment of His sufferingon His way to the Cross. The community of Zamboanga del Norte and the neighboring municipalities are the major participants of this event. Linabo Peak is located at Sitio Dinginan, Brgy. Lugdungan. Approximately 5-6 kilometers away from the city proper of Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Bearing at 486 sea level, Linabo peak is providing the panoramic view of the City. Linabo Peak is said to be that popular destination during Holy week. Hundreds of Devotees would love to get together in the “Katkat Sakripisyo,”(Sacrificial climb), It is a religious re-enactment suffering of Jesus Christ on His way to the Cross.
