The Municipality of Bayog, Province of Zamboanga del Sur celebrated the Palad-Palad Festival in commemoration of its 46th Founding Anniversary yesterday, April 9, 2013. Palad-Palad is a Subanen term which means “thanksgiving.” It is a celebration of joy, peace and unity and thanksgiving for great and bountiful harvest, progress and developments and people’s achievement. A street dancing competition at the Municipal Park opened the said celebration. Winners of the contest were awarded with cash prizes. The municipality of Bayog marked its 48^th founding anniversary on Friday featuring street dancing competition locally known as “Palad-Palad Festival.”

Palad-Palad Festival, which is held yearly showcases tribal dance and music with the participants in indigenous costumes.
