One of the notable structures in Sarangani is the provincial capitol situated at the Municipality of Alabel.
When viewed in the aerial survey, the capitol is a “C” shape structure– making it a tourist spot in the locality. It has this unique arrangement in honor of the founding father of the province that exerted great efforts in the search of the P55 million funds from DPWH just to materialize the construction of the building.
Today, there are 12 offices comprising the building. In the right wing are Agriculture’s Office, Legal Office, Engineering Office, and Planning Office while in the left wing are Budget Office, Treasurer’s Office, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Extension Office, and the Information Office. The Administrator’s Office, Conference room, Asst. Administrator’s Office, and Human Resource Management Office are located in the second floor of the building. Set in seemingly-classical downtown Glan are several ancestral houses mostly built in the early part of 1900s. The imposing balconies, canopies, and walls of “kalados” and concrete stepboards leading to wide wooden staircases will certainly awe-inspire antique trippers.
Some of them even hold striking collections of prized oriental sets and other precious antiques displayed right in the drawing room. The municipal government of Glan preserves the ancestral houses taking pride of its ancestors’ birthright. Read More: http://sarangani.freewebspace.com/tourism/tou-houses.html
Gumasa Beach in Sarangani Province. Dubbed as the “Boracay of the South,” Gumasa Beach offers the same beautiful shoreline, fine white powdery sands, and pristine turquoise waters, complete with a picturesque backdrop. Its long crescent beach stretches six kilometers on Sarangani’s eastern shore.
The beach has all the things has to offer minus the completely commercialized stations and wild night parties of Boracay. While fun is Boracay’s selling point aside from its beautiful beach, the feeling of exclusivity, privacy, and serenity is what makes Gumasa Beach appealing to a lot of people. Who wouldn’t dream a life If you’re looking for something quieter, and less crowded, you should check out this beach down south. Nalus Falls is good for day tour only. I been with many waterfalls here in Mindanao and I can say that it’s not that really enchanting like high waterfalls you have in mind. You can do a little hike to reach the higher part. The middle portion is deep and current was just fine. We didn’t stay there for a long time. Just a quick visit. Olanivan Island is located in the newly created province of the Philippines, Davao Occidental. It is a remote island where tourists can enjoy the breathtaking scenery that surrounds it. This tropical island has a circular sand beach formation and is near to Balut Island and Sarangani Island.
Tourists can also enjoy touring around its white lighthouse. The old lighthouse was built by the Americans during the American Colonial period. It served as a guide for the American warships going to Australia. Meanwhile, if you don’t want crowded beaches, this island is the perfect destination to visit. One of the reasons why Sarangani is getting popular these days is due to the 1.6 Km white water tubing that is in Pangi River. The white water tubing is Sarangani’s version of the Whitewater rafting in Cagayan de Oro and Davao. While big rafts are being used in white water rafting, at white water tubing you will be riding alone on a rubber tube and traverse the wild Pangi River.
