Balaring Mangrove Eco-Tourism Area is one of the many projects that showcases how a local community can work together for the protection of their coastal area and, therefore, help prevent storm surge and climate change related problems.
Located at Balaring, Silay City in Negros Occidental, Balaring Mangrove project was the product of coordination between the Ikaw-Ako Negros-Japan Partnership for Environmental Protection. The local residents of this coastal area was organized into a community association known as BAMPA or Balaring Mangrove Planters Association. This organization oversees the protection and conservation of different species of Mangroves.
The Mangrove area had been converted by the local community into a Mangrove Eco-Park where environmentalists, students, and tourists, among others, frequent the area to study Mangrove, to have a picnic, to breath the fresh air and just to experience nature in another way, the Mangroves Plantation way. Bantug Lake Ranch

Bantug Lake Ranch is the perfect place for you. You can chill and relax while enjoying activities and amenities that will surely delight you, your family, and friends. You can locate the green and secluded lake ranch at Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City. The owner inherited it from his Father Abelardo Bantug Jr. In 2009, the siblings, Michael and Reeda Bantug made the luxuriant orchard poultry and sugarcane field into a lake-ranch. While the family is selling farm lots, Michael decided to dig a lake. The lake is made of fresh water from a running creek that’s generating the water back to the creek. Animal-lover Michael decided to purchase prizewinning breeds and other animals. Some animals are from the benevolent benefactors that also love animals. Now Bantug Lake Ranch is also the home of the animals. Read More: https://www.toponmylist.com/bantug-lake-ranch/

Capitol Park and Lagoon

The Capitol Park or more popularly known as The Lagoon was bristling with morning activities as the city slowly woke up. From far off, I can already hear the sound of lively music blaring from the park that morning exercisers were dancing to. The lagoon was also filled with joggers making rounds along its periphery.
Three notable sculptures can be found along the square. The Paghimud-os monument by Eduardo S. Castrillo, guarding the entrance along Lacson Street; and the two golden larger-than-life water buffalo statues, one with a man and the other a woman found on the two sides of the Lagoon. The former was done by either Negrense sculptor Felix Garzon or Guillermo Tolentino (there seems to be a contention between those two) and the latter by Italian artist Francesco Riccardo Monti, the same sculptor who did the works on the now defunct Metropolitan Manila Theater and University of the Philippines. Church of the Angry Christ

Church of the Angry Christ. The name invokes a sense of wonder. Perhaps because anger is one of the seven deadly sins and it’s strange that a Catholic Church would associate Christ with it. The St. Joseph the Worker chapel is different among Negros Occidental churches, or perhaps even among the churches in the Philippines.
St. Joseph the Worker Chapel, commonly known as the Church of the Angry Christ is located inside the Victorias Milling Company (VMC) compound in Negros Occidental. The company built the church to serve the Catholic employees and their families living inside the VMC community composed of seven barangays.
