Ambulong Island is one of the stunning islands in Occidental Mindoro. It has a powdery white sand beaches, calm and clear waters and beautiful sights of limestone cliffs. This island is also good for snorkeling since one can find beautiful coral gardens and plenty of marine lifeforms. There is a resort in the island named Ambulong Bluewater Resort that offers good accommodation. There are also beach beds and hammocks one can use. The island also serves as the jump-off point to the nearby dive sites and an island, so it would be better to include island hopping and diving in your plans.

Ambulong Island is located in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.  Read More:  https://touristspotsfinder.com/occidental-mindoro-tourist-spots/

Ambulong is a small island in the Philippines located on the western side of the Ambolon Strait, that separates it from Ilin Island.  Ambulong is located in Occidental Mindoro province of the Philippines, part of the municipality of San Jose. In 1919 it was described as “hilly and well wooded”, and in 1919 its elevation at the northern part of the island was recorded at 567 feet (173 m).

The entire island constitutes one barangay with the same name in the municipality of San Jose. Its population in the 2015 census was 2,224 persons, up from 1,539 in the 2010 census.  Read More: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambulong

And so we arrived at Ambulong Bluewater Resort. We giddily tread the shallow waters and we were greeted by the friendly resort caretaker, whose name escapes me now. We hurriedly dropped our bags and quickly inspected our room. Though I immediately noticed that the fan and lights could not be turned on. Apparently, the island runs on generator and they try to not turn it on yet until night time or until the guests requested for it. We didn’t really mind anyway as our eyes were set on the beach hammocks :)) We spent the entire afternoon walking by the beach, admiring the sunset, and talking about almost anything. No phone signal, no wifi, no daytime electricity. You realize that it’s good to be cut off from civilization every once in a while.   Read More:  https://sulfatedreams.wordpress.com/2013/12/10/ambulong-island-in-san-jose-our-little-patch-of-paradise/
