To proceed on a trek to Hulagaan Falls we started by hiring a fishing boat from Tagbac beach. The trip took approximately half an hour. From the beach to the falls is about a 40 minute walk. On the trek up the Hulagaan river bed one has to be on the lookout for snakes.

A further word of caution – the pool beneath the falls is several metres deep and there is little in the way of a foot hold on the steeply sloping rock walls. So if you are not a good swimmer, it is best not to bathe there. The falls though attractive, are relatively small, being at a guess less then six meters high. Hulugan Falls are relatively new, opening to tourism October 2015. They stand at 285 feet and the basin at its deepest is 22 feet. There are shallow parts though and it is very suitable for children to swim. There were life vests available should they be needed but I would recommend taking your own for the kids if they need them. The water is clean, with just a sprinkling of leaves fallen from the overhanging trees, floating like little boats on the water. I loved watching the soft silky seeds of the trees floating through the air, coming to land on wet rocks. I felt kind of sorry for them, that their dance-like display of dispersion suddenly ends in the wrong kind of place for them to set root.  Read More:  http://saltybug.com/tag/hulagan-falls/

Hulagaan Falls is a cascading 3 meters of water that falls into a pool cupped by towering boulders on both sides.

Most visitors to Hulagaan trek to the falls for a quick dip in its natural pool. Hulagaan drains out to the sea, hence trekkers had to traverse a rocky creek where small tributaries drain cool water from the springs that originate deep in the forest.

Hulagaan is ideal for day hikes and for those who are willing to experience an authentic outdoor experience, walking through dense jungle can be quite an adventure.  When they reach Hulagaan they usually get fascinated by the colorful pebbles on the beach, the rugged terrain, pristine wildlife, interesting flora and fauna and the enticing waterfalls.   Read More: https://www.facebook.com/PGOTourismOffice/photos/a.521394217999797/521394564666429/?type=1&theater
