Our group landed on the fine, white sand of Basul island on a peaceful afternoon. The sun is undoubtedly felt, consciously tingles the skin and crystallizing the sand beneath my feet. On the other side of this plateful wonder is a rugged rocky shore, a far cry from where our boat took us. The two faces of the island show the natural wonders and versatility of Basul.
Simple cottages that are similar to a traditional kubo are available to tourists and visitors who want to enjoy the waters and even stay overnight in the island. Only 50php ($1.5) per person or 450php ($5) per cottage given to the caretaker, and the whole island is yours to enjoy. Note that there are no stores in the area so make sure to bring food and water for your trip.
To experience a truly relaxing day and be one with the nature, bring your own tents for an overnight stay. Do not forget your flashlight to add light to the stars in the night time.

We weren’t planning on getting a cottage because an open-air cottage costs Php 500.00. We only stopped there to see the island and eat breakfast.
