BEACHES, RESORTS AND DIVE SITES
Batangas has some great beaches which are perfect for children. Some have a stretch of shallow water that gently tapers off for nearly 600 feet, making it ideal for swimming and splashing around. Others have a nicely developed scene with plenty of water sports equipment for hire and boating excursions. Most of the rest of the beaches are pretty and some have decent coral gardens ideal for snorkeling.
Whatever kind of beach experience you want can be found in Batangas. The coastline of this province has quiet, secluded stretches of sand as well as more developed areas with resorts and water sports.

Located in Barangay Hugon, San Juan. The sand in Hugon Beach is white and is more than onekilometer long. Some parts of the sea bottom are covered with smooth rocks although the bottom is predominantly sandy. There is a sudden drop-off only about ten meters from the beach. Aqua sports, such as snorkeling and swimming are recommended.
Verde Island

Strong currents sweep through Verde Island, which extends from just south of the island to the opposite side. Drop-offs are interspersed with steep slopes with a ledge at 50 feet off Pinnacle Rock. Plenty of corals, both soft and hard and numerous reefs fish. Pelagic fish also visit this area. The more popular dive sites are on the western and eastern side between San Agapito and San Augustan. The drop-off features excellent visibility, beautiful fish, large gorgonians, and plenty of soft coral. The two most popular dive sites here are the Drop-off (o-300 ft) and the Spanish galleon that ran around in 1620.

Batangas Bay is a natural harbor. It’s deep enough to allow big ships to park on its private and public ports. Along its coast are the towns of Mabini, Bauan, and Batangas City where large petroleum and chemical refineries and food processing zones thrive side-by-side with small fishing communities.
