Sumaguing Cave is most visited by tourists compared to Lumiang Cave. Here is just an easy trek and will definitely entertain your eyes and exercise your imagination. If you’re looking for sight seeing only, then you should just probably visit Sumaguing Cave. It’s an area full of descent with several shallow cave pool landings along the way.

Sumaguing Cave is also known as the Porn Cave, due to some rock formations depicting male and female sex organs.

Theory suggests that Sagada was once underwater, or the cave was once inhabited by sea creatures, due to the fossils found in the rocks of Sumaguing Cave. There you will see sea shells and other fish fossils preserved on the rocks.

There is another trail inside Sumaguing Cave where guides called the Extreme Spelunking experience. It is also called the Crystal Cave. The locals said it is ten times more beautiful than the Lumiang-Sumaguing Cave Connection experience. Scenic views draw people to Sagada, but the beauty hidden within its caves is what makes this remote northern town a spelunker’s paradise. Among its 60 underground caves is Sumaguing, one of the longest in the country and the town’s most popular attraction. Sumaguing’s trail twists and turns, and then opens up into the largest chamber of the Sagada cave system appropriately called the “Big Cave”. It is the rush of underground water that is credited for the gentle sculpting of Sumaguing’s limestones into golden formations that seemingly look familiar, like the one that resembles a towering chocolate cake, and still another, a pregnant lady. One’s imagination is the only limit. To view these water-hewn marvels requires crawling through tight tunnels, rappelling down nearly vertical walls, and wading in ice-cold crystal waters. these are all part of the breath-taking experience that is Sumaguing.  Read More:  https://www.landbank.com/sumaguing-cave
