Pangapog Festival is situated in Samal City, Davao del Norte held every year 1^st to 7^th of August. Dance to the beat of Sama dances in Sayaw-sayaw sa Dan, a local Mardi Gras at the culmination of the festival.

This year’s Pangapog Festival kicked off with “Panaw sa Kadini, Tanom sa Kadyawan”, a massive tree planting activity in several pre-identified sites, and was conducted in groups by various sectors in IGaCoS. The Festival formally opened with the Pangapog Rites. Presided by a ‘Balyan’ (priestess), the rite included offering back the farm tools to ‘Magbabaya’. This was followed by a “Misa-Pasalamat”, a Eucharistic celebration with some indigenous and ecumenical adaptations. These activities were held at the Freedom Park in Peñaplata where the “Pusaka sa Kaompoanan”, an exhibit of indigenous artifacts and photos of the Lumad elders and leaders were also displayed. Pangapog festival in the Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte is famous for being the resorts capital in the South.
