The Province of Tawi-Tawi is considered as the greatest maker of Seaweed Powder in the nation. Lepa Festival

The provincial government of Tawi-Tawi will introduce Lepa Festival to be part of the 46th Kamahardikaan sin Tawi-Tawi.

The first Lepa Festival will be held on September 24 at Bongao Wharf.

According to the local government, lepa means houseboat, which is the traditional home of the Sama de Laut (a.k.a. Sama-Badjao, or Badjao) before they settled into stilt houses in the coastal areas, to cope up with the fast changing world.
