CASARORO FALLS

In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the beautiful Casaroro Falls, considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely what makes Casaroro unique. Though despite its narrowness, the volume of water that drops is heavy and causes a roar as it touches the pool. Around the basin are natural boulders huge enough to rest any traveler’s weary feet. Casaroro Falls, located in the municipality of Valencia, is one of the most popular attractions in the province of Negros Occidental. It is touted to be the province’s most photographed body of water and is definitely the pride of Valencia. Said to be the tallest waterfalls in the Visayas region with a height of more than 30 meter, visitors going to Dumaguete City are urged to go and see this majestic waterfall.

Casaroro Falls is about 12 kilometers west of Dumaguete City, at the foot of Mt. Talinis. It is an easy travel along a scenic road that will take you uphill to the mountains of Valencia where the waterfalls are lodged deep in its rocky crevices. Although the road from the highway going up to the falls is quite challenging, the sight of its majesty is well worth the difficulties of reaching the place.

Casaroro Falls is stunning. Though it is narrow, this waterfalls has a powerful plunge down a 100-foot ravine into the rocks and boulders that catch the mighty force of the waters. At the foot is a basin which can offer a refreshing dip. However, it is advised that you do not swim close to the falls as there have been reported incidents of drowning, perhaps because of the strong current. It is said that the depth of this basin is equal to the height of the falls but the exact depth has never been actually measured.    Read More: https://www.thousandwonders.net/Casaroro+Falls

In the deep crevices of the highland town of Valencia lies one of Negros Oriental’s most sought after tourist destinations – the towering Casaroro Falls!

Standing at around 100 feet, Casaroro Falls is tucked in the hilly terrain at the foot of Cuernos del Negros or Mount Talinis, approximately 10 kilometers or one hour away from Dumaguete City. It consists of a single layer horsetail cascade with cold water emanating from the springs in the upper slope of Mount Talinis, unique and iconic with its narrow and smooth yet powerful drop to its deep and cold natural pool.

Casaroro Falls is a favorite day trip from Dumaguete City due to its proximity and accessibility. But despite the continuous flock of visitors, the place is still generally quiet and raw. There is no other structure aside from the 350-step staircase and the metal and concrete paths on some parts of the trail.

It is not surprising for Casaroro Falls to be the most photographed waterfalls in all of Negros. Its sheer beauty and grandeur speak worthy justifications.  Read More: https://wonderstrucktraveler.com/casaroro-falls-the-towering-treasure-of-valencia-negros-oriental/
