Eastern Samar is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region.  Its capital is the city of Borongan. Eastern Samar occupies the eastern portion of the island of Samar. Bordering the province to the north is the province of Northern Samar and to the west is Samar province. To the east lies the Philippine Sea, part of the vast Pacific Ocean, while to the south lies the Leyte Gulf.   Read More:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Samar

Samar is divided into three parts – Northern Samar, Western Samar and Eastern Samar. For purposes of clarity, Western Samar is simply referred to or called SAMAR.

Eastern Samar is located in the Philippines’ middle island of the Visayas.

One of the three provinces in the island of Samar is Eastern Samar, located at its easternmost part that faces the Pacific Ocean. I didn’t know very much about this province until I visited it recently. I was surprised to find out that Eastern Samar is endowed with beautiful waterfalls, pretty beaches perfect for surfing and caves among others.

Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) consists of the provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar. I thought it was possible to explore five (5) of these provinces in five (5) days but I thought wrong. Even though different means of transportation are available in these places, key destinations for a traveler to visit are relatively far from each other. Or if not, the transportation needed to go from one place to another is not always available.  Read More:  https://kotheexplorer.com/2018/02/16/exploring-eastern-samar-province-of-beauty-and-resiliency/
