Dalupiri Island is just off the western coast of Samar Island at the south end of the San Bernardino Strait. The island’s white beaches are considered an “undisturbed paradise” and future “premier tourist destination” in the Eastern Visayas region.

Dalupiri Island lies in the east central periphery of the Philippine archipelago. It is bounded by San Bernardino Strait in the north and east, Samar Sea in the south, and Capul Island in west. It is approximately 5 nautical miles from the Pacific Ocean and sits near the entrance along the Paso de Acapulco, otherwise known as San Bernardino Strait. It has 28 kilometers long white sand beach around the island.

Dalupiri Island is a 2,700 hectare island of gently rolling hills, mostly of coconut vegetation and shrubbery. It is home to white beaches, caves, and the Lagbangan Lake.

Because of Dalupiri Island’s pristine white sand beach, in May 2007, San Antonio, together with the island towns of Biri, Capul, and San Vicente, were declared as eco-tourism zones. With its coral reefs, Dalupiri island is ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, yachting, jet skiing, para-sailing and marine life observation.  Dalupiri Island is sometimes referred to as “San Antonio” but it’s really the name of the town on this peaceful little island. There is a nice trail following the coast for 25 kilometers. There is not very much going on but it’s a great place to rest for the night.

Pumpboats make regular runs between Victoria on the mainland to San Antonio on Dalupiri Island for 30 pesos per person, there was a 30 peso charge for the bike and 20 peso for the porters to load it.  The trip around the island is an uneventful but relaxing ride through the coconut palms.  Read More:   http://www.dutchpickle.com/philippines/samar/dalupiri-island-samar.html
