Mt. Tapyas is at 210 meters above sea level and is the second highest mountain in Coron. It can be easily located and identified as it has the giant 5 letters C O R O N and the giant cross also lights up at night, so it is like a beacon that can be easily found and notice wherever part of Coron you are. For about 20 minutes, we reached the top though we are not physically fit enough because once in a while we were resting. Yeah, there are waiting sheds with bench where you take a rest while you are catching up your breath.  – Text From: http://www.thedailyposh.net/2015/07/sunrise-at-mt-tapyas-coron-palawan-ph.html

You want to hike a mountain but you don’t want to hassle yourself with backpacks, muddy earth, setting up tents, heavy pack, crawling insects and all the reasons you have for not actually hiking a mountain? Mt. Tapyas is a good mountain for you. Can you believe that within 20-30 minutes, you can reach the summit while enjoying a 360 degree view of the Islands of Coron. Yes! There is such thing and it is just few minutes away from the town proper of one of the best islands in the Philippines.

In comparison to the other mountains out there, Mt. Tapyas’ summit can be reached with the aid of stairs! Yes. Stairs. It mostly seem like a grotto because at the top most part of the mountain is a huge cross and Coron sign which resembles the Hollywood sign in LA. Mt. Tapyas is the dichotomy of hard and easy hike. Easy in a way that you don’t have to bring those huge packs, tents and other hiking stuff, yet hard because you have to endure 723 steps to go up. However, you don’t need to worry because there are trees that will provide shades from the sun. You can always take five. You are not in a hurry, so. No big deal. It’s a lot of effort yes, but when you reach the top, it’s worth it.  – Text from:  https://thelakadchronicles.wordpress.com/2015/04/11/lakad-guide-mt-tapyas-coron-palawan/
