Samar is divided into three parts – Northern Samar, Western Samar and Eastern Samar. For purposes of clarity, Western Samar is simply referred to or called SAMAR.

Langun Gobingob is a caving system located in Samar Island National Park or SINP. SINP is a 333,000 hectares of protected natural eco-tourism system spanning the whole island of Samar and its three provinces, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Western Samar (or simply Samar). It is also the biggest natural park in the Philippines, comprising the largest contiguous lowland tropical rainforest in the country. Welcome to the monstrous, mysterious, and unearthly Langun Gobingob Cave system.

With an area of 900 square meters spanning over 12 different cave systems, Langun Gobingob Cave is the largest cave system in the Philippines and second largest in Asia. It is also reputed to be the world’s third largest individual karst formation. Many of the sub-systems and dark tunnels that dot the massive cavern remain unexplored.

Behold, the massive limestone-cliff entrance of Gobingob Cave. Rising above the thickness of the forest, it so massive that the cavern fills out our field of vision even if it is still half a kilometer away. Its size almost defies description.
