WONDERFUL PLACES
IN SORSOGON

Visit the “Switzerland of the Orient” located at the southernmost tip of Luzon and explore its abundant natural tourist attractions. The province of Sorsogon in Bicol Region is a prime eco-tourist destination offering pristine beaches, unexplored caves, numerous waterfalls, national parks, marine reserve and more. Here is a list of some of the things you can do and see to help you plan your next visit in the province.

 Libanon Beach

Located in San Juan, Bacon District, Lebanon Beach is virtually unspoiled. The surrounding granite mountains mirror those of Palawan’s. And the soft breeze that blows from the distant mountains is perfect for a day of ease.

The trek to Lebanon Beach is not the easiest. For those with wobbly knees, the descent is something short of torture. After all, one has to pick one’s way through boulders and a steep incline. But the beach is well worth the hassle of going there. The powder-fine sand is a treat for sore feet, and the crystal water is just perfect. On windy days, the beach lends itself well to surfing.

Tolongapo Beach

The beach is located in Brgy. Caricaran, just after Brgy. Poblacion. One can take jeep from the makeshift terminal near the Sorsogon National High School. One can either wait for the jeep to get full of passengers or one can take the jeep who takes the route anytime. For those in a hurry, anyone can ask any tricycle driver to take them to Bacon; last time I did this it cost me PHP50.00.

Back then, one would pass by the wet market (it’s a corner lot near the sea and it still standing) since the other roads were full of potholes. But nowadays, you can have several options, nonetheless, you end up on the road going to Prieto Diaz.  Read More: https://sorsogoncity.wordpress.com/2011/01/29/bacon-beach-a-photo-journal/

Palogtoc Falls

It is a pleasant, leisurely 20-minute walk through rolling hills carpeted with green grass, under a canopy of tall coconut trees, as one steps off the Bulusan road down to the place. At the site, one finds a man-made earthen swimming pool where the gurgling water flows from just a few feet up the hillside. It is actually just a mini-falls, but the cool spring water is sweet, refreshing and bracing. Available alongside the pool are picnic cottages.
