The Province of Lanao del Norte is home to a number of festivals to which the people freely practice. Every barangay and municipality regularly commemorates its festival or foundation day for their residents to celebrate the history of their ancestors, the community and their ways of life. A freedom to which the constituents were accustom to for years.
In Lanao del Norte, the culturally diverse inhabitants: Lumads, Muslims and Christians, respect and recognize each other’s differences in beliefs and traditions. Alimango Festival
The Alimango Festival is a colorful and fascinating celebration in the town of Lala in the province of Lanao del Norte.
Lala is the top producer of this species of alimango (crab) in Lanao del Norte. Alongside its display and sale festival is the Alimango Street Dance Contest: a package of native and indigenous costumes, dances, and contest depicting and promoting local cultures and traditions, alimango-inspired motifs of the ati-atihan dances during the parade, a fluvial parade passing through the unspoiled mangroves, and the contest featuring the largest and biggest alimango which is held at the Local Government Center.

Kinhason Festival

Hudyaka sa Lubi Festival

After almost a decade, Hudyaka sa Lubi Festival returned with a more festive celebration of dancing, village contests, and other activities that lured residents and visitors in this town.
It was successfully revived with overwhelming response from the residents of Linamon and nearby towns who witnessed the week-long celebration. What we did was a collective effort from the legislative body, barangay (village) officials and private business sectors while the various departments have done their respective role, responsibility and accountability. Kalilang Festival of Nunungan – every 30th of June, the Municipality of Nunungan holds their founding anniversary and the Maranaw Kalilang is the highlight of the event. This is celebrated by 25 barangays as they prepare local delicacies, hang colorful bunting and flags, perform cultural dances and play the kolintang. Niyogan Festival

Niyogan Festival was first celebrated way back in the year 1997 on the 23rd of May through the efforts of the Sangguniang Bayan of Magsaysay by virtue of Resolution no. 36.s. 1997 and honored to be the tourist attraction of the town inviting tourists to witness the lively people of Magsaysay united under one common goal of peace and development.
The performers of the Street Dancing showcase the multiuse of the ‘Niyog’ (Coconut) through their costumes and props. The coconut tree is called the tree of life because it can be a source of numerous products generated from the tree. From its roots up to its leaves it can be a source of food, one can make a shelter from it, can be processed as fuel, can be use as decorations, and even medicines. Sagayan Festival

Sagingan Festival

Sarimanok Festival

Sarimanok is a legendary bird of the Maranao people. It derives from the words “Sari” means cloth or garments of assorted colours, and “Manok” means chicken. And it is said to be a symbol of good fortune.
In Kolambugan, the Sarimanok Festival is a celebration of peace and unity amongst the Muslim and Christian inhabitants not only in the municipality but also to the entire Province of Lanao del Norte. Tulingan Festival

Tulingan Festival is presented and launched for the fist time on the year 2003 and is regularly celebrated every commemoration of this Municipality’s Foundation Anniversary 4th of the month of October. Tulingan Festival generally features the role of men in preserving Mother Earth.
