Basco Lighthouse is a lighthouse in the town of Basco in Batanes, the northernmost province in the Philippines. Located in Naidi Hills in Barangay San Antonio, the lush green hills and the open sea provide a beautiful backdrop for the lighthouse. The place can easily be reached by a 1.2-km (3/4 mile) hike from the Port of Basco. Read More: https://www.trover.com/d/iWNj-batanes-cagayan-valley-philippines

Basco Lighthouse, first lit in 2003, was the first to be completed of the three lighthouses in Batanes. Basco Lighthouse was built in Naidi Hills, at the site of the old telegraph facility used during the American era and was destroyed by the Japanese during World War II.

The main column is round, white painted, and crowned with a red lantern room. The bottom portion and the attached dwelling (for the caretaker) are limestone masonry. The 20-meter tower has six stories, with the fifth being the gallery, allowing unobstructed views of the West Philippine Sea to the west, Mt. Iraya to the north, and the Basco Town Proper to the south. A nearby building houses the Bunker Cafe.   Read More: https://www.thepoortraveler.net/2014/06/basco-lighthouse-mahatao-sabtang-island-batanes-philippines/

Basco Lighthouse was completed in 2003 on the spot near the old American telegraph facility that Japanese troops destroyed during the Second World War. The 20-metre high facility has six-stories in it, the fifth one being the gallery that offers tourists a breathtaking vista of the West Philippine Sea, Mt. Iraya, and Basco Town Proper. In here, the wind blows with fierceness, the verdant green surroundings relaxing, and the view of the seemingly endless rolling hills can make you wonder how such a small province can hold such majestic beauty — beauty you should not forget to capture on camera.
