Dapitan City is not just all about Dakak Park Beach Resort and Jose Rizal anymore. One of the best beaches to experience when in Dapitan is the crystal clear turquoise waters of Aliguay Island.

Aliguay Island in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte is surrounded by the Sulu Sea.  Getting there is an adventure by itself.  You can go by helicopter from Dakak Park and Beach Resort, take the motorized banca, or ride on the crest of waves on a speedboat like we did. It was 30-45 minutes of a pure adrenaline ride over undulating white-capped waters and being sprayed on by sea water from time to time. My eyes were stinging from the salt water. But speedboats do glide.  And the sight of a long stretch of white sand beach with waving coconut palms and clear blue waters was more than enough to pull me through the rough ride.  Beach bum that I am, Aliguay Island proved to be a perfect getaway from the crowd.   Read More:   https://www.choosephilippines.com/go/islands-and-beaches/2286/aliguay-island-zamboanga-del-norte/
