Ukkalong / Occalong Falls

It was more natural before with lush foliage and no barriers, everything was natural. Down the stream there are turtles basking on the rocks. Centennial Tree

In the municipality of Bacnotan, which is widely popular for its cement deposits and Sea Urchins, there’s a Barangay called Carcarmay, named after a tree that bears a sour-sweet yellowish fruit that grows abundant in the area. It is not however famous because of Carmay but because of an Acacia tree that has become the place’s witness of its growth in the various stages of our history. More than a hundred years old, it still stands majestically at the center of Carcarmay Community School, giving shade to countless graduation rites and various school and community programs. Poro Point Board Walk

Another object of tourism and recreational interest, “Key West of the Philippines”. It is the home of the Presidential Rest House, the Catalnaan. A Philippine Navy Detachment is also strained south of the point. Also now being occupied by the Philippine Air Force. West of the point, before reaching Camp Wallace, are huge gasoline and oil depots and warehouses of big firms, all of which activity, cargo, warehousing and international shipping occur as routine activities. Tuddingan Falls

The Province of La Union is blessed with majestic waterfalls because of the continued protection of trees in its mountains that help keep our bodies of water flourish, constantly nurturing Mother Nature all year round.

An example of which is the enchanting Tuddingan Falls in the Municipality of Naguilian. Unlike other waterfalls in the province which have poor accessibility, visitors have the luxury of walking on a 700-meter cemented pathway with grills beside Bagulin Road up to the hill overlooking the waterfall. Tapuakan River

Tapuacan River (also known as Pugo – Cleanest Inland River of the North, Region I) is located in Barangay Cares, municipality of Pugo, La Union, Philippines (the smallest/inlet town which is sited in the foot Santo Tomas mountains range and about an hour away from Baguio City passing through the Aspiras, formerly Marcos Highway leading to the Ilocandia Region).

In Ilocano terminology, “tapuakan” means “a place where one can jump as high”. In the exquisite river, cool and pristine water flows from the town’s streams amid a huge rockbeds or awesome large (huge and quite flat) rock formations surrounded by forests and a water fall. Basilica Minore

This basilica is located in La Union’s oldest town, Agoo, founded in 1578. This is not really an old church, having been constructed in the 1970s. It was consecrated as a Marian shrine in 1978 and elevated to a rank of Basilica Minore by Pope John Paul II in 1982.
