The Coron Reef is another tourist spot in Palawan that should be considered visiting. It has seven captivating lakes engulfed by limestone cliffs. The venue is a popular destination of nature lovers staying in Palawan.

One of the top destinations in Palawan, the El Nido Marine Reserve is home to different species of wildlife. With an area of 96,000 hectares, this tourist spot in Palawan is home to a wide range of rainforests, coral reefs, limestone cliffs, mangroves, and white sand beaches. Likewise, guests can look forward to seeing numerous species of fishes like the manta ray. Divers may experience swimming side by side with the sea cow, known by its local name of “dugong,” which is one of the most endangered marine mammal in the world. The Coron Reefs is located at Coron Bay, the body of water surrounded by Busuanga, Coron and Culion Islands, collectively known as the Calamian Group of Islands. It is found on the northern portion of Palawan near the town of Coron. Coron reef is comprised of seven enchanting lakes surrounded by craggy limestone cliffs. Considered as one of the beautiful natures, the Coron Reef is flocked many local and foreign tourist everyday.

Coron Reef is tied with the World War II when Philippines was occupied by Japanese, in which sea battles occurs in the Island of Palawan as the US Navy liberated the Philippines. The war resulted into a number of sunken Japanese shipwrecks sunk on the sea. The aquatic views of a dozen sunken Japanese warships at depths between 10 and 40 metres (33 and 130 ft) off Coron Island are making Coron and its neighboring municipalities a popular diving destination, listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine’s top 10 best scuba diving sites in the world.

The municipality of Coron itself is composed of Coron Island, a portion of Busuanga Island, and some 20 other outlying islands. It is blessed with pristine white beaches, turquoise waters, limestone cliffs, and a virtually unspoiled countryside all contributing to a breathtakingly beautiful landscape.
