Emars Wave Pool

A fantastic addition to the growing number of tourist attractions in the city is Emars Wave pool. Opened early 2010, the water park is also a beach resort and at the same time has a hotel and restaurant.
Situated in Times Beach Matina, Davao City, the water park offers a different kind of fun. The wavepool is a large swimming pool with artificial waves that stimulates the waves of the ocean. Although the machine that stimulates waves is not always turned on, still the waves would come out every now and then. Within the wavepool are slides, toddler creeks and bubble pools. They even have a Jacuzzi where adults can take a dip. Lifeguards are also seen beside the pool area so you can be sure of your kid’s safety.
Known as the first ever wavepool in Mindanao covering 2000 sqm, Emars Wavepool Hotel, Beach Resort and Restaurant boosts refined ambiance and sophisticated function halls along with its restaurants which offers international and Filipino cuisines. Their function room caters special occasions like weddings and corporate events. Cottages for day use costs around Php200.00.
The hotel is equipped with 85 air-conditioned rooms with wifi, cable tv, complimentary breakfast and entrance to their wavepool. Room rate starts at Php 1,500.00 and extra beds costs Php350.00. Other amenities include a spa, ktv bar, coffee shop and a souvenir shop. The staffs are nice, friendly and are willing to serve you at any time. Epol Falls

Epol is in the mountainous Marilog District, homeland of the Matigsalog tribe and is adjacent to Bukidnon and North Cotabato provinces with their own tribal groups. It is high altitude with some parts reaching 4,000 feet above sea level, cool and pleasant weather where many go for treks, vegetables and just to escape the humid and punishing heat in the lowlands.
Epol Waterfall is not as lofty and as spectacular as others, however, it is a good introduction to trekking as the trail leads you to a slight descent passing secondary forest, stand of tall trees as well as passion fruit farms.
Epol Waterfall is reached by taking the road from Davao City to BuDa, the Bukidnon – Davao boundary. While it is much easier to have your own vehicle, one can just ride the bus from the Ecoland terminal to Bukidnon for two hours. Tell the conductor to drop you at the starting point at Epol, just below the Smart relay station perched on a hill. Read More: http://langyaw.com/2010/09/28/a-mini-cascade-epol-waterfall-in-davao/
