Summer Sports Festival

Under the scorching heat of the sun, summer celebration continued with the 5th Summer Sports Festival 2013 participated by the sports enthusiasts coming from the different parts of Davao Region which kicked off last May 17 at the city’s Rotary Park.

During the opening program, the induction and oath-taking ceremony of the new set of officers of the Tagum City Federation of Sports Association (TCFSA) was conducted.  This year’s festival featured sports disciplines such as beach volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, badminton, sepak takraw, chess, 6 men open volleyball, dart, softball, lawn tennis and mix martial arts.  Read More:  http://www.davaoeagle.com/5th-summer-sports-festival-in-tagum-concludes/

 

Flores de Tagumeño Festival

26 beautiful sagalas paraded in Tagum City’s major thoroughfares as part of the culminating activities of the 5th Flores de Tagumeño last May 25, 2013, which is a month-long activity that honors the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The Santacruzan de Tagumeño is uniquely Tagumeño as different groups in the city joined forces in the revival of this tradition.

After the Holy Mass at the Parish of Christ the Eucharistic King, the 26 sagalas walked down the road with their respective escorts, each pair made royal and grand with their arcs adorned with varieties of flowers.  These sagalas were dressed with gowns as designed by leading fashion designers based in Tagum City and Davao City.

Durian Festival

It is a festival celebrated during the month of September up to October that gathers the Durian Growers from the province of Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley and convene in the City of Tagum provide and offer the lowest rate of durian fruits for the consumers.
