SAN MIGUEL MOUNTAIN PEAK

The first thing that will be noticed is the eye-catching rock mountain called the San Miguel Peak. It has a height of 700 foot (213 meters) above sea level and is a popular site for rock climbers wanting a rappelling adventure. A trail was built to those who want to reach its summit. Even the local children are offering visitors to be their guide. We weren’t unable to climb because of limited time (remember, this is just a stopover) but it’s enough that we saw its beauty.

On the other side, there large pieces of rocks scattered around the site. According to the locals, they are debris made by the Japanese invaders who blasted the site to hide their treasure. In my opinion, this place could be developed as a rock climbing destination or any hardcore sports that deals with height and so on…just a suggestion. San Miguel Peak is a stunning rock mountain at Sisiman Bay in Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan. The peak is around 700 feet high and reaching its summit requires 20-minute trekking. Rock climbing and rappelling have been conducted in the area since it has portions with pure drop. The view of Sisiman Bay is more magnificent from the summit. Hopping from rock to rock is also an awesome adventure for hikers. Some overnight campers pitch their tents at mountain’s base. Some visitors spend the night at the local cottages along the pebble beach. To beach visitors, hiking to the summit is just a bonus. But my trip to Bataan was intended to summit the peak, beach is a bonus.  Read More: http://trekero.blogspot.com/2015/11/san-miguel-peak-magnificent-tower-of.html
