Cebu, a province in the Philippines, consists of Cebu Island and the more than 160 smaller islands that surround it. The province is known for its Sinulog festival, a religious celebration that’s held each year on the third weekend of January to honor Santo Nino. Cebu also boasts several religious museums and a Taoist temple. Other attractions include soaking up the sun on the beaches of Cebu’s Mactan Island. You can travel to Cebu from Manila by airplane or ferry.
Step 1
Take a direct flight from Manila to Cebu. Both Philippine Airlines and Air Philippines Express operate daily flights from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Cebu’s Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The flights take about an hour, making air travel the fastest way to get to Cebu from Manila.
Step 2
Travel from Manila to Cebu by ferry. Sail from Manila’s Pier 15 to Cebu’s International Port. Super Ferry offers this route up to six times per week; the trip can take up to 24 hours. Enjoy comfortable on-board sleeping accommodations and amenities like a hair salon and multiple restaurants.
Step 3
Purchase the plane or ferry tickets online, by phone or through a licensed travel agent.

Tourist Season
The Low Season is when the winds change and blow eastward into White Beach. There is more rain than usual, but there are also fewer tourists, better prices on accommodations, and other lower prices. The low season begins in May, and ends in October.
During High Season, the winds come from the other side of the island, and White Beach is protected. The wind blows out to sea, leaving the beach pristinely clean and generally calm. It is also winter in the northern hemisphere, and tourists come in numbers in search of sun, heat, beach and party. High Season starts in October and ends in May.
The Peak Season is when the tourists are at their height. This includes Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, and Holy Week (Easter Week). Some resorts have a +10% to +25% premium on their rooms, and the island gets fully booked. Make sure you book as far in advance as possible.
