A short drive of only a few minutes brings us to the sign that enthusiastically proclaims that the falls consist of 7 individual basins. After having paid the entrance fee it turns out that this water is literally crying out to us! My word, the water is so fantastically cool, just the right temperature! A few kids are climbing up and down and are performing tricks, such as sliding down one of the smaller waterfalls. We wisely take more care of our behinds and therefore merely look on. The sides of the basin however are quite slippery with algae, but the water is incredibly clear. The pond is too deep to stand in only in the middle. For those less than adventurous souls, you can get into the water from a shallow entrance and then just wade in. Read More: http://kalibo.tukcedo.nl/jawilihurom_e.html

Jawili Falls, known for its Seven Basins, is a tourist destination found at Barangay Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan. It has a mesmerizing composition of crystal clear pools and waterfalls. The cleanliness of this place is maintained by the people of Jawili. It is a perfect getaway that is near to Boracay, the most in demand tourist spot in the Philippines.  It is an hour road trip from Caticlan, Boracay. Simply ride a pump boat and ride a van or jeepney going to Tangalan.

JAWILI FALLS

The laid-back Tangalan is a fifth class municipality of Aklan composed of 15 barangays, one of them is Jawili known for Jawili Falls. This natural wonder can be reached by taking a tricycle from the public market near the main highway. Jawili Falls is composed of seven cascades gushing into rock pools that are perfect for swimming. The place has been developed for the convenience of tourists; shower rooms are available as well as a modest restaurant.

What I like about Jawili is its air of tranquility and timelessness. Its coast is lapped by palm-fringed powdery cream sands and azure sea. Just a short ride from Jawili waterfalls is Jawili Beach, which makes a perfect escape from the crowd and chaos of Kalibo. It may not rival the white sand beaches of Boracay, but it definitely has its own local character.  Fishing boats are docked on the shores of Jawili Beach and if you’re timing is right, you may even catch the villagers trawling here.  Read More: https://greedypeg.org/aklan/Pagatpat-Mangrove-Park.html
