The Malbog Hotsprings are volcanic in origin, and hydrogen sulfide is a common gas where sulphur and heat are present. The waters have been known for their healing properties since the early 1900’s. They are located just outside of the town of Buena Vista on the road to Torrijos. Getting to the springs themselves is part of the adventure as the road leading to the springs’ entrance is not paved, and at you will have to cross a small stream. Malbog Sulfuric Hot Spring Resort is located at the foot of the mountain in Brgy. Malbog, Buenavista, Marinduque. The hot spring has sulfur content popularly used for skin care and treatments. Despite its rotten-egg like foul, many locals and tourists visit this place for body relaxation and healing of skin conditions. Some are even bringing home bottles of sulfuric water.

Many believed that this sulfuric hot spring was discovered during the Spanish period. It is a spring of sulfuric water coming from Mt.
