Mount Asog or Mount Iriga is a dormant old volcano the lies along Iriga City and Buhi Camarines Sur stunningly standing 1,140 MASL with difficulty level of 4/9 similar to Mount Cristobal of Southern Tagalog.
First part of the trail are houses of the local (agta tribe) that will lead you to the foot of the mountain entering the enclosed private properties at some part. Mount Asog are exposed to sun with ninety percent plus assault. According to some article, underneath its crater lies 4 fault line and may erupt anytime without warning but as to date the mountain remain calm. My difficulty rating for this mountain is 4/9 similar to Mt.Cristobal. The summit crater rim is very astonishing as it will offer the hiker if weather is fine; you can see the old crater at the caldera and the Pili peak.
