A grand burst of color, life and faith — that’s the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this event, Zamboanga Hermosa Festival is a month-long celebration honoring Nuestra Senora la Virgen del Pilar (Our Lady of Pillar). It is held in Zamboanga City in the province of Zamboanga del Sur every October. The locals of the city — Christians, Muslims and Lumads gather to participate in various activities including food fests, fashion & music shows and street dancing.

Local and foreign tourists visit Zamboanga City to witness this event, and I’m one of the lucky ones to be invited here as well! If we talk about one of the best annual celebrations in the beautiful city of Zamboanga, this is definitely includes the Zamboanga La Hermosa Festival. According to history, this is also known as “Fiesta Pilar” and considered as a month-long event in the entire region of Zamboanga.

The highlight of the celebration is to honor the Our Lady of the Pilar or Nuestra Señora del Pilar. This is actually the miraculous patron saint of the city and the exact date of the festivity begins on October 1-12 each year. Zamboanga Hermosa Festival is held every year on October in Zamboanga city. The excellent city of Zamboanga invites thousands to the locale’s greatest, most luxurious festival of the year. The multi day festivities are for the most part out of appreciation for the wonderful picture of Our Lady of the Pilar Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragosa, which is additionally generally known as the “Celebration Pilar” at the unbelievable Fort Pila who has an exceptional party in October.

Zamboanga La Hermosa Festival or the popularly known as Fiesta Pilar, is held to pay tribute to the phenomenal picture of Our Lady of the Pilar at the amazing Fort Pila. The general population of Zamboanga intensely trust that the woman has filled in as their bringing together social and authentic image. In recognition of her devour day, Zamboanga shows its commitment and energy with a nine-night parade, firecrackers, an ethnic parade, a social show, a regatta, and the Miss Zamboanga parade.
