PASALAMAT FESTIVAL

Pagadian City celebrates its fiesta every third Sunday of January in honor of its patron saint, Sto. Niño (the Holy Child Jesus). It is officially named Pasalamat Festival, and it coincides with Cebu City’s Sinulog Festival.
Pasalamat Festival is highlighted with a fluvial parade (regatta), trade exhibits, the Mutya ng Pagadian beauty pageant, carnival shows as well as a civic military parade.

The local government formally opened Monday the “Pasalamat Festival” through agro-trade fair and “Pinaka Contest” at the Plaza Luz’ covered court, in Pagadian City.
Agricultural products from the different barangays of this city are displayed for sale at the agro-trade fair booths.
The agro-trade fair is one of the series of activities during the week-long celebration of the “Pasalamat Festival” showcasing the culture and tradition of this city’s tri-peoples–the Christians, Muslims and Subanens–to enliven the spirits of Sto.
