MACAHAMBUS ADVENTURE PARK

Macahambus Adventure Park is located in Cagayan de Oro. What makes this place memorable for me? Well, this is where I had my first zip line adventure. I’ve always been pretty sure that I’m not scared of heights. The Macahambus Adventure Park zip line isn’t that high in terms of height but it’s definitely more than 100meters above the ground. When I had to do the zip line, my feelings were indescribable. I haven’t fathomed whether I was scared, excited or terrified. I guess it was more on excitement. But I was taken by surprise after hitting the zip line. They’ll have to drop you few meters from the ledge first before you start your way to the other side. Seriously, that was even more than a bit of surprise for me.  Read More:  https://adventuristacorner.wordpress.com/2012/06/10/a-side-trip-to-macahambus-adventure-park/

One of the places to visit while you’re in Cagayan de Oro City is the Macahambus Adventure Park, a natural getaway that offers a change of pace from the humdrum of everyday life.

Designed to be an alternative park catering to extreme sports enthusiasts, Macahambus Adventure Park offers much to the adventurous and sporty individual. Imagine immersing yourself in the full glory of nature, walking in the midst of gigantic century-old trees and swinging from the top of an enormous gorge, nothing between you and the ground except hundred of feet of air, giving you a different perspective of the majestic Macahambus gorge. For a thrilling experience of the entire gorge in full, take a deep breath and cross the Sky Bridge, which runs for 135 meters across a height of 150 feet, which gives you the most commanding view of the gorge in all its glory. If you’re looking for more adventure, why not try rappelling down the gorge itself for that once-in-a-lifetime rush; experience the thrill of slowly making your way down into the forest floor and looking up to the canopy of trees from a totally new perspective.

For that ultimate, heart-pounding, adrenaline-laced thrill, the 120-meter Zip Line (slide-for-life) is the right thing for you. The rush of hanging from a heavy-duty cable at a height of 150 feet is incomparable – but sliding through the same cable across the two edges of a gorge is nothing short of exhilarating.

But don’t take our word for it. Come and see for yourself.  The Macahambus Adventure Park is conveniently located at Barangay Lumbia, a 25-minute ride from the heart of the city, and 10 minutes from the airport. Read More:  http://www.kagaycagayandeororafting.com/macahambus/index.html

The Zipline or so — that’s what they call it. What is it? Well, to put it in a more simpler way, you go up, your body get tied to a rope, the rope is attached to a steel cable, and you slide down slowly(if it ain’t close to supersonic, it’d be slow). That’s it. Thrilling? No. Life’s more thrilling, the fact that you don’t know when you’re going to die, how many people are going to betray you in your lifetime, and some idiot named satan who seems to be always trying to be disrupting humanity(I learned it from people who say that our souls are always in peril), a fragile planet that is more difficult to maintain than ever, born in a country where people don’t learn lessons from the past — I’ve got enough thrills in my life. I opt not to try this as I may just fall asleep and end up embarassing the nature park(or thrill park) organizers. Well, its fun for some though. No denying — which is why I’m here at this time.  Read More: http://apodeltakappa.blogspot.com/p/tourist-spots-in-cdo.html
