Quitinday Hills

About an hour from Legazpi City, Albay’s provincial capital, lies the sleepy town of Camalig. Here, you’ll find one of the province’s hidden gems: Quitinday Hills, a 400-hectare sweep of verdant terrain that’s reminiscent of Bohol’s famed Chocolate Hills.
Standing at about 127m above sea level, the main hill can be easily surmounted with a 15-minute trek (even shorter if you’re hardcore!) along an established trail. The rutted path has a good sprinkling of craggy rocks and is secured by a length of bamboo fence. It also has a width of about one arm span, so visitors are advised to climb in single file. Overall, however, the trail’s subtle and steady incline makes it beginner- and kid-friendly.
Once you get to the top of the hill, you’ll have a choice of several viewing areas. One of these is a swath of even ground lying between two mounds, thereby affording visitors a different perspective of the hills. Here, you’ll find a nipa hut, where you can catch your breath while admiring the expanse of rolling hills and jagged peaks. Quitinday/Jovellar Underground River

A dozen people onboard a paddle-driven raft chorused with expressions of amazement as flashlights cut through the darkness of a magically-hewn cavern serving as an underground passage in this quaint rural town of a long river straddling from the lower slope of the majestic Mt. Mayon.
Called the Quitinday Underground River situated in Barangay Quitinday, less than a kilometer from the downtown, this extraordinary water conduit offers a narrow arch at its upstream entrance to where the rapids turbulently flow into the four-meter-deep pool inside the cave.
The cave’s width varies from five to eight meters, depending on the irregular span between its walls that feature a strange buildup of finely sculptured limestone rocks that eerily look like an army of animated small minions in fancy formations. San Lorenzo Church

One of the interesting Roman Catholic churches to visit in Tiwi, Albay is the church of St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish located at Sitio Basag, Barangay Tigbi. It was formerly known as the century-old Tigbi Parish Church.
St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish Church, also called as San Lorenzo Church, faces the municipal hall of Tiwi, Albay. As what its name suggested, the church was established in honour of the patron of the poor and one of the most widely valued saints of the Catholic Church, the Spanish martyr St. Lawrence.
The feast day of St. Lawrence the Martyr is celebrated every 10th of August wherein rites in honour of the patron are held by the locals of Tigbi, as well as by the town of Tiwi. The same patron is also honoured on the same feast day by the people in Balangiga, Samar and Bangui, Ilocos Norte.
