Bantigue Island Sandbar is just 20 minutes of boat ride from Gigantes Norte. From Gigantes Norte, you will pass by an island perfect for cliff diving, and one that they call “Enchanted City” for its night lights courtesy of thousands of its host of fireflies.
During summer, the sandbar goes straight towards the sea. However, this ridge of sand is snake-like during monsoon season, and curves like a banana as the summer season approaches. All of these forms are defined by the action of the waves or currents. At times, when the water is really low, the sandbar is too long and the end of it almost reaches the island next to it.
The best time to visit Bantigue Island and appreciate its sandbar is during low tide so you get to see the sandbar in full. Read More: https://obotology.wordpress.com/2015/01/20/iloilos-islas-de-gigantes-bantigue-island-sandbar/

Next stop is Bantigue Island which is just a few minutes boat ride from Antonia island. It’s basically a long stretch of white sand in the middle of the ocean with a beautiful view of a small mountain with lush vegetation in one end. When the water is high, part of the sandbar is submerged in the sea leaving just a small portion of the island exposed. When we arrived, I was amazed at how clear the water was. It’s amazing!

Bantigue Island sandbar is a stunning spectacle, a tongue of land that extends to the sea, jutting out its white (or creamy) sand in pristine waters. But, depending on which side are you and the strength of the waves, you always have the option of floating in the calmer water.
The sand may not be as powdery white as that of Boracay’s White Beach, but man, the water is just cool that I had the time of my life just floating around and doing childlike somersaults or submerge and swim. And swim. And swim. Then I head to the sand, and then jump to the other side! I was just so happy even if I was all alone in the water, the banca crew and my guide just watched and smiled!
