For nature lovers, the unspoiled Aniao Islets is another point of interest in the province of Baler. Its location is at the tip of Baler Bay, and a bend away from the lighthouse. The 6 big rock formations compose Aniao islets and is part of the attraction in Dicasalarin beach. Shoreline is coarse & shallow – another rocky coral reef mesa that opens to the deep open sea. Area is not suitable for leisure swimming but more for snorkling & scuba diving. The site is good for photography purposes and beach combing activities. Probably my favorite place among the few we visited during the tour, Aniao Islet, also known as Lukso-Lukso Islet, features picturesque rock formations with a beach with strong waves (probably ideal for surfing… if you can reach it :P) which serves as a beautiful backdrop.

But though it was difficult to hop from one rock to another, the views from each corner of the place are breathtaking and all worth it. Aniao Islets is surrounded by rocks and huge waves continuously hit these huge rocks which made it impossible for swimming, or even for surfing. Basically, the place is perfect for picture taking and beach bumming although I am not so sure if you can call it a beach. But nonetheless, the sound of the waves, the sand under my feet, and the beautiful scenery around me were all in sync that one beautiful morning. There was an “infinity pool” at one corner where a few kids were taking a dip. A vintage Volkswagen van was stationed at the entrance which has been transformed into a small sari-sari store and sells fresh coconut.
