Kalayaan festival, as the name suggests, is a celebration of Philippine Independence.  There is no more appropriate place to hold this celebration than the very historic province of Cavite, the seat of Philippine independence.

Cavite, is a home to many a historic encounters, men and all of that patriotic what-not.

Kalayaan Festival is a 2 week-long, province-wide event held annually from May 28 to June 12.  The festival was came to life in 2005 with various programs including street dancing, float parade, beauty pageant and trade fair.  –  wowcavite.com

Named as the Cradle of Philippine Revolution and Birthplace of Philippine Independence, Cavite positions itself as the Historical Capital of the Philippines in this celebration, having been honored with the most extravagant verifiable inheritance that includes the arrangement of furnished uprisings that started with the Cavite Mutiny of 1872 and finished with the decree of Philippine Independence by Caviteno General Emilio Aguinaldo on June 12, 1898 at the overhang of his home in Kawit.

The Kalayaan Festival plans to exhibit another method for encountering our history and will hold the guarantee of enterprise and revelation of our magnificent past with incredible pride and excitement. It unifies the 20 municipalities and 3 cities of the province in celebrating Cavite’s lasting historical and cultural contributions in molding our country as a nation and will explore its relevance in mapping the province’s initiatives towards its way to progress.
