The Province of Albay, or the whole Bicol region for that matter, has always been synonymous to Mayon Volcano, arguably the world’s most perfect cone.

This 2,463-meter mountain can be seen from anywhere in Albay, but the best view is from the postcard-pretty Cagsawa Ruins Park in Daraga town where you’ll find the remnants of the Cagsawa church (it was damaged by Mayon’s most destructive eruption in 1814).  This restive volcano is so enigmatic that it lures both professional photographers and amateurs alike, even when it’s spewing out lava!
